Team Foundation Server and Bulk Work Item Editing in Excel

I recently learned a very valuable lesson on bulk work item editing from Excel: Do not rely upon Edit –> Undo functionality. Ever.

Martin Hinshelwood recently made the same mistake I did and blogged about it and how he fixed it.

Luckily, I only ended up with several hundred off-by-one values on my work items. I have about 250 left to go through and manually revert the values.

Bottom Line: Only use Excel to bulk-add work items to your project and you save yourself a lot of headache!
